Onggi Festival

I took Isaac to an Onggi Festival a few weeks back.  Onggi is Korean traditional pottery for storing kimchi and bean paste.  See here for more information.

We went on the opening day so not much was happening yet - Koreans are late starters!
However it was nice to have a look around and see something traditionally Korean. And get our hands dirty!!

Gorgeous Lanterns everywhere - made by the school children

A sea of blue clad volunteers

Paintings featuring onggi

Making a onggi pot - He did this so fast, we were watching him start it, then we  turned around to look at something else, and when we had turned back he was almost finished!

Trying our hand at pottery.. Hmm don't give up my day job

Showing our wares

Its tradition to write a wish on this paper, then hang it from your favourite lantern

World record for the biggest man-made onggi pot

I will never get enough of these little old ladies selling their wares.
Usually their husbands are around the corner playing chess
